Water bottle part 2

This is the last day of swim lessons for the kiddos. I like to get a small gift for the swim teacher. For years I have given them a water bottle. I usually fill them with lifesaver candy. This year I used outdoor vinyl from Pick Your Plum to decorate a dollar store water bottle. I put the name of our favorite swimming hole that I cut out on my wishblade.

Birthday and initial shirts

I made two shirts for a sassy little girl who is celebrating her birthday today.

I started by washing the shirt and fabric. Next I created the design in Silhouette Studio.

Next I ironed heat and bond to the fabric and then cut out the design on my wishblade. I made a tiny one for a hair clip.

I also made a shirt with her initial.

Can’t wait to see pics of the birthday girl in her shirt.

H2O bottles

Last year I came up with a neat gift idea for coaches and teachers. I used vinyl to personalize waterbottles that I found at the Dollar Tree.

Using the shilouette software I typed in the teachers name and then cut it out of vinyl. I use painters tape to keep the letters evenly spaced as I transfer it onto the bottle. You can also use craft punches to cut out shapes to decorate the bottle. I also made these for my whole family. We have washed them many times and have not had any problem with the vinyl peeling off. I do suggest a block style font. I used a curly font for my daughter’s bottle and it was hard to adhear straight and not rip.

Work of Art

Everytime I walked the hall my my kids school this painting always caught my eye.

I was so excited when My son brought it home on the last day of school.  I need to come up with a creative way to showcase this work of Art.

Teacher gifts-fail

I love thinking up something creative for teacher gifts.  This year I made mugs and tote bags for the teachers on vistaprint.  I was going to fill the mugs with a mug cake.  I wanted to test the recipe ahead of time to make sure it would taste good.  I was happily baking in the kitchen, when my elbow hit the coco powder.  I watched the powder fly up in the air, as if it were in slow motion.  The next thing I knew was I had an eye full of coco powder!  It felt like I had gravel in my eye.  My hubby rushed in to help me.  We had a good laugh over the situation.  I took the mishap as a sign that I was not meant to make mug cakes.  I filled the mugs with jelly beans instead.
